An Ecological Study of the Effect of Certain Management Practices on Native Prairie in Iowa

Author: Ehrenreich, J. H., & Aikman, J. M.

Description: Whenever any one factor in an ecosystem is changed, the entire community is affected. So it is important to understand and to be able to predict how land management practices will affect the plants themselves and their environment. The purpose of the study reported here was to learn about the direct and indirect effects on the prairie of four specific management practices: burning, mowing, grazing, and protection.
